Test whether a requirement has been satisfied

Pre-conditions

  • A requirement has been created that needs to be verified

Scenario

  1. A test case is selected for the requirement
    • If a suitable test case already exists then it is selected
    • Otherwise a new test case is created
  2. A bi-directional link is created between the test case and the requirement
    • Link can be used to examine which requirement is validated by the test case
    • Link can be used to examine which test case validates the requirement
  3. Test scripts are associated with the test case
    • New test scripts may be created
    • Existing test scripts may also be selected
  4. The test case details are updated based on the test scripts to be executed
    • Procedural data such as the test case precondition and postcondition are collected
    • The test case may be reviewed and refined as needed
  5. Product requirement is implemented
    • Candidate driver is created
    • Candidate driver is delivered for test
  6. Test case is executed
    • Multiple configurations may be tested
    • Defects are created if necessary

Post-conditions

  • Requirement has been tested. If new defects have been created then it may or may not have been fully satisfied.
