Create a test plan for a group of requirements

Pre-conditions

  • A group of requirements has been identified for a product release or milestone.

Scenario

  1. A test plan is selected for the group of requirements
    • If a suitable test plan already exists then it is selected
    • Otherwise a new test plan is created
  2. A bi-directional link is created between the test plan and the group of requirements
    • Link can be used to examine which group of requirements is validated by the test plan
    • Link can be used to examine which test plan validates the group of requirements
  3. Test cases are associated with the test plan
    • New test cases may be created for each requirement in the group
    • Existing test cases may also be selected
  4. The test plan details are updated based on the test cases to be executed
    • Planning data such as required resources and work estimates are collected
    • The test plan may be reviewed and refined as needed
  5. Product requirements are implemented
    • Candidate driver is created
    • Candidate driver is delivered for test
  6. Test cases are executed
    • Defects are created as necessary
    • Test execution continues until test plan's exit criteria has been met

Post-conditions

  • The group of requirements has been validated in a candidate driver.
